One Piece Going Merry

Sailing away from Syrup Village with full sails towards the Grand Line is the Going Merry! This beautiful seagoing vessel carried Luffy and his pirate crew during the first half of the series, where the ship would enjoy many adventures. The Straw Hats even gave the ship wings and took to the skies once! This model kit rendition of the Going Merry creates a pristine representation of the vessel without any of the hastily made repairs that characterized her life with the Straw Hats. If you cherish the simpler times with the Straw Hat Pirates, the Going Merry model kit is the perfect way to immortalize the first ship that carried the man who will become the King of the Pirates!

  • Display Base
  • Deck Cannon
  • Deck Barrel
  • Deck Chest

This Going Merry model kit comes in at almost twice the size of the Going Merry One Piece Grand Ship Collection version, allowing the designers to showcase the intricacies of the Going Merry design in full detail. The most outstanding aspect of this model, when compared to the smaller versions, is the inclusion of rubberized riggings throughout the ship. These polycap-material pieces provide the model with a more accurate and realistic appearance. The Going Merry also includes a tiny braided rope to attach the anchor. The Going Merry is a snap-fit and features a comprehensive set of color-correcting stickers to recreate her anime appearance.

This kit includes:

11 Runners total (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K)
Total Piece Count – 112 Pieces

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the [INSERT KIT NAME HERE] with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. Making your own panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
