This is Finishing Surfacer 1500 Black from Mr. Hobby. This black base allows the omission of the painting of a black coat before applying a metallic color and reduces the thickness of the paint.

The only surfacer/primer line I’ve come to now use. 1500 for that super smooth finish. I’m grateful that it comes in black, especially for those over coats (candy coats). 2:3 surfacer to thinner works well. Always grab a few to have some in stock!

Mr Hobby is known for their amazing surfacer and this lives up to that. Perfect finish and black to extenuate those dark shadows.

The best surfacer in the world. Dries super quickly with a perfect matte. Wish they sold this in house paint can sized jugs. Buy more than you think you’ll need and stock up on this magical stuff.
