MGEX ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam

Earn 167 Reward Points

The ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam is the pinnacle of Cosmic Era Mobile Suit development! The ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam is the follow-up to the ZAFT’s Freedom Gundam, which met its end during Operation Angel Down. ZAFT began developing the ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam to replace Freedom. During these events, Terminal, an organization with ties to the Clyne Faction, stole the plans and completed the construction of the Strike Freedom as Kira Yamato’s personal Mobile Suit. The ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom incorporates aspects from many different Mobile Suits, including the Voiture Lumiere system utilized by the GSX-401FW Stargazer Gundam. When coupled with the ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam’s unique Hyper Deuterion Nuclear Reactor, the Voiture Lumiere could propel the Strike Freedom Gundam indefinitely, or at least until the reactor overexerted itself.

Bandai designed the MGEX Strike Freedom with an incredibly detailed internal frame and a functioning cockpit hatch that reveals the 1/100 scale Kira Yamato Figure seated inside. This model features double-jointed limbs and swiveling thighs, providing a wide range of motion to create dynamic poses. The MGEX Strike Freedom utilizes several photo-etch parts and metallic 3D stickers during assembly for a supreme finish right out of the box! Bandai also provided the MGEX Strike Freedom with a sizable display stand to showcase the full extent of the model’s posing capabilities.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

The MGEX Strike Freedom includes two identical Beam Rifles, which builders can fuse and create an even more powerful handheld cannon. Builders can connect these weapons to the Mobile Suit’s side skirts when not in use. The MGEX Strike Freedom comes with some massive onboard firepower. The MGEX Strike Freedom features eight Super DRAGOONs, which Kira controls with his mind while piloting the Mobile Suit. Each DRAGOON includes a beam assault cannon for individual use or to work alongside the ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam’s other weapons systems. By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the MGEX ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. Making your own panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
