The RX-75 Guntank is a long-range artillery Mobile Suit developed for the Earth Federation’s Operation V initiative, a program initiated to create Mobile Suits powerful enough to defeat the Principality of Zeon’s army of Zaku Mobile Suits. The RX-75 Guntank features a massive humanoid torso with a pair of manipulator’s arms loaded with four missile launchers each atop its treads, showcasing the unique design philosophy that brought this Mobile Suit into development. The RX-75 Guntank also features a pair of shoulder-mounted cannons for engaging targets at range using heavy ordnance munitions. Only a single RX-75 Guntank prototype would survive long enough to board the White Base and join the RX-78-2 Gundam and the RX-77-2 Guncannon for the remainder of the Operation V initiative.

Included alongside the MG Guntank for accessories:

  • 1/100 Bright Noa Figure
  • 1/100 Mirai Yashima Figure
  • 1/100 Hayato Kobayashi Figure
  • 1/100 Ryu Hosei Figure
  • LED Unit (Green)
  • Core Fighter Landing Gear

Articulation –

The MG Guntank features the same transformable Core Fighter gimmick as the MG RX-78-2 Gundam Ver. 2.0, showcasing the in-universe lineage that connects these two Mobile Suits. This model is one of the only examples of an RX-75 Guntank with functioning tank treads! Unlike other renditions, the MG Guntank tasks builders with creating both tank treads themselves, providing two runners of individually molded tracks for builders to link together and wrap around the wheel assemblies. The MG Guntank also features built-in suspension and an LED unit in the box, making this one of the most gimmick-packed Master Grade releases from its era.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

The MG Guntank features several hatch-opening gimmicks to help builders display the model in the middle of a hasty repair. The 120mm Low-Recoil Cannons on the MG Guntank’s shoulders come attached to articulated assemblies and feature telescoping barrels! Builders can recreate the firing of the MG Guntank’s Bop Missile Launchers by rotating the model’s forearm, showcasing some of Bandai’s most ingenious engineering.

Description

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the RX-75 Guntank with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. Making your own panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
