The Sinanju began its life as an Earth Federation prototype Mobile Suit constructed to test the capabilities of psychoframe-equipped Mobile Suits. The Sinanju quickly fell into the hands of Neo Zeon Remnant Leader, Full Frontal. Inspired by the legacy of Char Aznable, Full Frontal claimed the Sinanju as his personal Mobile Suit, modifying it and repainting the suit in a brilliant red. Neo Zeon engineers made purposeful cosmetic changes to the Mobile Suit, replacing all Federation motifs with ornate Zeonesque styling. Like its predecessor, the RX-93 Nu Gundam, the Sinanju features a full-psychoframe cockpit with psychoframe parts throughout the Mobile Suit’s frame. These additions allow Newtype Pilots to communicate directly with the Mobile Suit’s operating system with brainwaves.

The MG Sinanju features a complete internal construction using parts from the previously released Ver.Ka rendition, replacing the original ABS plastic components with all Polystyrene parts, reducing the likelihood of snapping off pieces of the model. The model features functioning cockpit hatches that will reveal the 1/100 Full Frontal Figure seated inside! This model comes loaded with articulated panels and thrusters, showcasing the full extent of Bandai’s engineering expertise. The MG Sinanju features double-jointed limbs and swiveling thighs, providing a wide range of motion to create dynamic poses!
Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –
The Sinanju includes a collapsable bazooka with a removable magazine containing five rounds. In the collapsed state, this weapon can also attach to the Mobile Suit’s Beam Rifle for a massive display of firepower! Builders can also attach the optics from the bazooka to the Beam Rifle or use the grenade launcher attached to the Shield as an under-barrel accessory. Builders can also connect the Sinanju’s Beam Tomahawks to the Shield, increasing its offensive capabilities. The Beam Tomahawks can attach at the base to create a double-bladed weapon resembling the MS-14S Gelgoog‘s Beam Naginata.

The Sinanju really resonates with a lot of people, even the old school hardcore UC fans. It’s easy to see why: it has equal measures of regal, sinister, and beastly just radiating from it. This Master Grade version more than delivers on bringing that design spirit forward and into the 1/100 scale. As a re-release of the Sinanju Ver Ka, this OVA/Anime Color release has a few upgrades that justifies its existence. The frame is redone in polystyrene material instead of the Ver Ka’s ABS plastic. There is also an additional bazooka that the older Ver Ka didn’t have. So all in all, this version is pretty much the definitive one to have when comparing the two.
If it had one weakness that I would gripe over, it’s that it is a bit too sticker-dependent for a near $90 model kit. Granted, it’s nearly 15 years old at this point, but the era in which it came out was a transitional time for Bandai’s Master Grade line and upping the parts separation and lowering body sticker dependency was an obvious goal they were reaching towards. Bandai released Real Grades within 2 years of the original Sinanju Ver Ka’s release, so surely they had the means, if not desire, to push the dial even further up with it and eliminate body stickers. Especially since the $90 price tag puts it into the upper echelon of the Master Grade line’s retail spread; those are the types of kits where you implement the “things to come” experimental or bleeding edge manufacturing techniques, but frankly none of them found their way to the Sinanju.

It has so many moving and detailed parts that offer a wide range of display looks. It’s size is simply impressive too.
