Kyoukai Senki 04 Amaim Ghost

Earn 34 Reward Points

The AMAIM Ghost is a powerful and mysterious autonomous mecha from Sunrise Beyond’s latest series:   Kyoukai Senki. All aspects of the AMAIM Ghost, including its model number, name, manufacturer, and affiliation, are unknown by any of the occupying parties within Japan. The only knowledge gathered about AMAIM Ghost comes from its seemingly unmotivated attacks against Japan’s occupiers and organizations like Yatagaratsu poised against the economic occupation. During these engagements, it became common knowledge that the AMAIM Ghost contains no pilot and can repair itself using parts from other AMAIMs scavenged from the battlefield. This particular rendition of AMAIM Ghost uses a right arm stolen from the Jo Hound belonging to Gashin Tezuka’s father, who died at Ghost’s hand.

Articulation –

The HG AMAIM Ghost shares no parts with any previously released Kyoukai Senki models, ensuring a unique building experience for any builder looking to spice up their collection of scale-model-mechs. The AMAIM Ghost’s possibility and articulation are on par with the pilot-controlled MAILeS units, as they all share a similar shape and joint structure. The designers behind the mechs from Kyoukai Senki spent countless hours considering how a ~10m tall robot, such as AMIAM Ghost, would function using relatively realistic technology. This “function over form” mentality is the opposite of the Gundam Universe, which relies on fictional technologies like Minovsky Particles and Magnet Coating to explain the humanoid shape of their Mechs.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

The AMAIM Ghost uses an assortment of onboard weaponry in place of a traditional handheld loadout. Skipping out on handheld armaments allows the AMAIM Ghost to maximize its extraordinary mobility to the fullest extent. Attached to Ghost’s shoulders are a pair of Jamming Binders. This equipment exudes an electronic countermeasure while active, blocking enemy radar and communications. AMAIM Ghost’s left hand is much larger than the right, featuring five superheated claws to shred targets at close range and an EMP device built into the palm. Bandai included an optional set of foil stickers to recreate the glowing effect of the activated claws, with the only required sticker used to create the red ring surrounding the EMP device.

 This kit includes:

8 Runners total (A, B1, B2, B3, C1, C2, D1, D2)
Total Piece Count – 152 Pieces
Foil Stickers
Materials – PS

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the Amaim Ghost with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. Making your own panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
