The MSN-02 Zeong is the final Mobile Suit piloted by Char Aznable in the original Mobile Suit Gundam anime series. Despite being sortied without legs in its first and only battle, the Zeong operates at 100% combat capacity. The MSN-02 Zeong was one of the most formidable Mobile Suits constructed in its time thanks to its powerful Newtype weaponry. Be sure to check out the fantastic RG MSN-02 Zeong Bandai released in 2021 if you love this design.

All of the weaponry is built right into the torso and arms of the Zeong. So all you’ll find included with the MSN-02 Zeong is:

  • Display Stand

Each of the Mega-Particle Guns mounted inside the manipulators of the MSN-02 Zeong articulates at its base. Builders can display the Zeong Firing its weapons like in the anime thanks to Bandai’s attention to detail. For even more opportunities to recreate the anime, Bandai also included wires for displaying the Psycommu Manipulators separated from the Mobile Suit. The head also detaches for Char’s escape!

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

From afar, the MSN-02 Zeong could fool many into thinking that there were no weapons for the Mobile Suit to use. Once you’re close enough to realize that you were wrong, the three onboard Mega Particle Guns will have caused you to disintegrate! The MSN-02 Zeong has two guns mounted in its torso. The last is mounted right under the monoeye, almost giving the Zeong the appearance of a mouth.

HGUC #22 Msn-02 Zeong

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HGUC #22 Msn-02 Zeong with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.

  1. Zeonsredcomet (verified owner)

HGUC extremely easy build, but a very unique one. As someone who 85% of the time builds MG this was easy peasy lemon squeezy. This was easy for a HGUC even with one notable exception. If you don’t like seam lines you will have to deal with a few. This kit begged to be painted in Char’s signature colors. No stands for the arms, but the wire works better than I expected. Overall great kit, but man are Zeongs hard to find! RG DX Zeong will be a MUST have! Get this kit for a custom build, and the RG fit the diorama, and the MG for a gloss build. All grades will be in the pantheon of Zeon’s Red Comet!

  2. Wistfulfully Thinking (verified owner)

Simple old-school HG. Do not buy expecting a lot of surface detail. Lots of features, only one wire for the psycommu hands though (but making another shouldn’t be too hard). Worthwhile kit!

  3. Dr Zaius (verified owner)

I’m not one to insist on revives for every HG kit, but the Zeong is one that could really use it. Really accurate to the 0079 animation.
