HGUC #212 RMS-117 Galbaldy Beta

Earn 21 Reward Points

The Earth Federation developed the RMS-117 Galbaldy Beta using Zeon Mobile Suit designs captured at the end of the One Year War, primarily the Gabaldy Alpha. The Federation streamlined the armor and increased thruster output to make the RMS-117 Galbaldy Beta a much more capable Mobile Suit than Zeon planned to build.

Here is what comes on the runners alongside the RMS-117 Galbaldy Beta:

  • Beam Rifle
  • Shield
  • Beam Saber x2

Bandai hadn’t recreated the RMS-117 Galbaldy Beta in the 1/144 scale for 25 years before this HGUC release, and they certainly made up for that! The articulation of the RMS-117 Galbaldy Beta is truly stellar! The sleek armor panels and excellent joint structure make the RMS-117 Galbaldy Beta a must-build model kit. The level of detail on this kit is also worth mentioning; even the monoeye has molded detail to match the original artwork!

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

The RMS-117 Galbaldy Beta’s Shield features a deploying gimmick using multiple attachment points for the lower section of the Shield. There are two Beam Saber hilts stored in the shoulders of the RMS-117 Galbaldy Beta for display purposes. These hilts are not full-sized and won’t support a Beam Saber Blade. Bandai included two separate Beam Sabers for the RMS-117 Galbaldy Beta to wield.

HGUC #212 RMS-117 Galbaldy Beta

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HGUC #212 RMS-117 Galbaldy Beta with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
