HG IBO #28 Gundam Flauros Ryusei-Go

Earn 18 Reward Points

The Gundam Flauros is one of the lost Calamity War-era Mobile Suits reclaimed by Tekkedan after its discovery on Mars. After some repairs and a new paint job aboard the Saisei, the Flauros would return to Mars as the personal Mobile Suit of Norba Shino. Shino would rename the suit “Ryusei-Go IV,” a moniker shared with his previous MS. Flauros Ryusei-Go is one of the only transformable Mobile Suits used in Iron-Blooded Orphans and is easily the most complex. Flauros Ryusei-Go features a unique Shelling Mode, which converts the Mobile Suit to a quadrupedal beast for improved ground combat performance and increased accuracy when firing the two back-mounted Railguns at long distances.

Here’s what Bandai included alongside the HG Flauros Ryusei-Go for accessories:

  • 120mm Machine Gun x2

The transformation between Shelling Mode and Mobile Suit Mode does not require the addition or removal of parts. Bandai accomplished this using the same joint structure found throughout the HGIBO lineup. The Railguns also feature a ready-to-fire mode, achieved by inverting the tips of both rifles. The articulation of the Mobile Suit itself is almost entirely the same as the rest of the HGIBO models but is likely inhibited slightly by Flauros Ryusei-Go’s large backpack.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

Flauros Ryusei-Go’s Railguns work in Mobile Suit Mode and Shelling mode, yet, their performance is improved significantly by the latter. While in Shelling Mode, Flauros Ryusei-Go’s Ahab Reactors direct most of their energy to the Railguns, creating a more explosive shot. Attached to the backpack is an additional pair of 120mm Machine Guns that swing down below Flauros Ryusei-Go’s arms when deployed. These weapons also feature folding handles to be handheld as well.

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HG IBO #28 Flauros Ryusei-Go with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
