HG IBO #16 Kimaris Trooper

Earn 18 Reward Points

The ASW-G-66 Gundam Kimaris Trooper is a modified version of the Gundam Kimaris intended for atmospheric combat. The ASW-G-66 Gundam Kimaris Trooper features a new transformation into “Trooper Form,” which split’s the Mobile Suit’s legs into two articulated hover units. This new Trooper Form drastically increases the Mobile Suit’s mobility and enables the Gundam Kimaris Trooper to hover above the surface during atmospheric combat. The ASW-G-66 Gundam Kimaris Trooper takes full advantage of its high maneuverability, often seen charging toward targets with its massive Destroyer Lance pointed forwards for a deadly hit-and-run attack. The Gundam Kimaris Trooper also features a pair of sub-arms built into its side skirt, which helps the Mobile Suit wield its gigantic weapons. Gjallarhorn modified the Gundam Kimaris after learning of Tekkedan’s arrival on Earth, first engaging them in an attempt to rescue the Outer Earth Orbit Regulatory Fleet Commander.

Included alongside the HG Kimaris Trooper for accessories:

  • Destroyer Lance
  • Kimaris Shield
  • Kimaris Saber
  • Clear Display Base

The HG Gundam Kimaris Trooper shares several internal components with previously released Gundam models from the HG IBO Line. The HG Gundam Kimaris Trooper utilizes an array of updated frame parts to achieve its transformation into Trooper Form. Builders can remove and reattach the thrusters on the Gundam Kimaris Trooper backpack for Trooper Form. Bandai accomplished the model’s mode change using only built-in articulation, providing supplemental instructions to achieve the transformed state after completing the build. Bandai included a small transparent display base with the HG Gundam Kimaris Trooper, allowing builders to pose the Mobile Suit as it performs exciting flying attacks in Trooper Form!

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

The ASW-G-66 Gundam Kimaris Trooper’s Destroyer Lance features two built-in 140mm Machine Guns, serving as the Mobile Suit’s only means of ranged attack. The Kimaris Trooper would often use the Destroyer Lance and Trooper Form in tandem, approaching targets at high velocities and then striking them with the lancehead for a catastrophic result. The Mobile Suit also includes the Kimaris Shield, which attaches to the Gundam Kimaris Trooper’s forearm or one of the waist-mounted sub-arms. The Kimaris Shield also serves as the storage location of the Kimaris Sword, a small handheld sword for the Kimaris Trooper to engage enemy Mobile Suits at close range.

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HG IBO #16 Kimaris Trooper with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
